Brian Yuretich

Education

Brian has a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education and Social Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Bemidji State University. Brian earned a Post-Baccalaureate Degree in Emotional/Behavior Disorder and Specific Learning Disability from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Brian continued his education to acquire a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and is licensed as a  MN Special Education Director, K-12 Principal and Superintendent.

Professional Experience

Brian started his career as a teacher in Chisholm and Hibbing Public Schools. and held numerous teaching positions within these districts between 1998 and 2002. Beginning in 2002 Brian taught high school Level IV EBD program at the Northland Learning Center in Virginia, MN. In 2005, Brian became the Dean of Students for Northland’s Level IV EBD and alternative programs. Since 2007 to 2018, Brian has been a Special Education Coordinator/Supervisor. As of January 2018, Brian has filled the role of executive director of the Northland Learning Center

Brian serves as a board member of the Local Time Study Collaborative for Northern St. Louis County to help allocate federal entitlement dollars for supporting collaboration among local agencies and reducing barriers between service systems within northern St. Louis County. Additionally, Brian is a certified trainer for NLC staff in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention program developed by Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).

Personal Notes

Brian and his wife Kim have been married twenty years, and together are raising their two children. When not working, Brian enjoys do-it-yourself projects, historic re-enactments of the fur trade, and outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, canoeing, and kayaking.
